Hartley Morris Men's

65th Anniversary Ring Meeting

9th-11th June 2017

2017 marks the 65th Anniversary of the formation of The Hartley Morris Men, so to
celebrate we will be expanding our world famous weekend Ale, in the form of the
354th Meeting of the Morris Ring.

In customary fashion the festivities will be based in our adopted home village of Wrotham, Kent with all beer in the village hall free
for participants from 7pm Friday onwards.  (Google post code TN15 7AB to see where to find it).

Indoor accommodation will be provided in the Village Hall, Modern Cricket Pavilion (with ample hot showers) and the Primary school where there will be separate quarters for female musicians.  Secure outdoor camping and standing for caravans and campervans will also be available in the school Grounds.

After settling in on Friday evening a hot supper will be served in the Village Hall followed by the usual singing/music sessions in the local pubs.

On Saturday after a full English breakfast, there will be two tours of the Kent countryside in vintage buses/coaches incorporating visits to independent breweries, pubs and tourist attractions, returning to Wrotham for the evening Feast prepared by our regular professional chef.

After breakfast on Sunday morning there will be time to pack before moving on to the nearby town of Tonbridge for a massed display on the magnificent castle lawn.  There is to be no organised Church service before the massed display, instead we are arranging for sides to dance at the Farmers Market and other locations around the town.

Sunday lunch will be taken in the town’s large Wetherspoons pub, with a music & song session to follow, or perhaps spend a leisurely hour or two on the river or riding on the miniature steam railway.

The cost of the meeting will be in the region of, but not exceeding, £70.  This includes hot supper and free beer from 7pm Friday, indoor/outdoor camping with hot showers; full cooked breakfast, tours, lunch and Feast on Saturday plus full cooked breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
